James's career in commercial real estate began in 2005 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science. He became a Certified Appraiser in 2008 and in 2009 earned his MAI designation, the highest professional designation within the appraisal industry. In 2010 he furthered his knowledge and career and became a licensed Real Estate Broker. In 2010 he started Ryoak Real Estate Group, a small but fast growing commercial real estate appraisal, brokerage, and development company.
James is married to Johanna and has 4 beautiful children. They enjoy life in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. He's deeply involved in his community and has served as a Board Member for the non-profit Hope for Heroes, an organization that supports first responders around Texas. James was born and raised in Texas, spending his formative years in San Antonio where he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jonathan Hicks has more than 15 years of diverse experience, including in both public accounting and commercial real estate. Jonathan specializes in tenant representation, land sales, and investment sales and represents national, regional, and local tenants in assessing, planning, and executing their market development strategy in Houston and Southeast Texas.
Jonathan has been involved in a variety of transactions involving Walmart, Speedway (subsidiary of 7-Eleven), Take 5, Meineke, Murphy USA, RV Retailer, Target, Tuesday Morning, Ideal Image, Leslie’s Pools, Barry’s Bootcamp, CATO, Planet Fitness, Lowe’s, Main Event, and Macy’s.
Before joining Ryoak, Jonathan was a Principal with EDGE Realty Partners where he was part of the team that led the recruiting, business development, and management of EDGE’s Houston office. Jonathan was also the managing principal in the SRS Real Estate Partners’ Houston office. Jonathan implemented the company’s strategic vision by recruiting, people management, culture building and branding in addition to being the primary business generator for the Houston office and its brokers. During his six years at SRS, Jonathan grew the office from a team of 2 to a team of 10 members. Jonathan graduated with a master’s degree in land economics and real estate from Texas A&M University.

Brad loves tinkering with spreadsheets until they break. He strips out the parts that don't work, then rebuilds them to clearly communicate financial performance. He’s honed his analytical skills working as a commercial lender and business appraiser since graduating from Texas A&M in 2007 with a Bachelors in Economics and in 2009 with his Masters in Finance. In February 2025, Brad obtained NACVA’s Certified Valuation Analyst® (CVA®) designation. Brad also finished in the top 5 of the CRE Launch program in 2023.
He lives in the Boerne area with his wife, Callie, who was born and raised nearby in Comfort. They are members of Oak Hills Church where Brad is a drummer on the worship team, and their two daughters attend elementary school in Boerne ISD.

Steve Lewis, as Property and Asset Manager, brings over 30 years of domestic and international senior corporate management experience to the Ryoak Group. He has a degree In Economics and has completed graduate studies in Public Health and Environmental Management at Tulane University. He is a licensed Real Estate Agent and is a candidate for CCIM (certified commercial investment member) designation.
Steve currently resides in Boerne, Texas with his wife, Sharon. Together, they have 12 children and 18 grandchildren.
Mandi Rossbach

Mandi is the Corporate Controller for Ryoak Real Estate Group. She is responsible for accounting, payroll, and construction project tracking. Mandi has been in the real estate lending industry since 2005. She has extensive experience in commercial and residential investing, loan documentation, and construction draw processing.
Originally from North Carolina, and after nearly 20 years in Colorado, she lives in Boerne, Texas with her husband and daughter.

Brett has been in the real estate industry since 2009 in a variety of roles. He has worked for many large companies in the real estate software and property management spaces. His specialties included managing and growing sales and operations teams for real estate data and analytics products and national property management brands. In 2021, Brett started Real Property Management Hill Country. His goal is to help investors purchase and manage income producing properties throughout San Antonio and the hill country.
RPM Hill Country has teamed up with Ryoak Real Estate Group to provide residential property management and sales services. Brett is a native Texan and resides in Boerne with his wife and children.
